How “I Am” Can Improve Your Life

My goal is to be more intentional with my words and actions. I have been using positive affirmations to achieve that goal. My affirmations begin with “I am” followed by the outcome I desire. One of those affirmations has been “I am successful.” I have been using this technique for several months now. Since using “I am” statements, I have noticed a significant improvement in my self-esteem, confidence, and self-worth. I find myself naturally taking actions that were once outside of my comfort zone. My daily routines are more aligned with my goals. I am now effortlessly behaving in ways that were once met with resistance. Since using positive affirmations beginning with “I am”, I have manifested a new and healthy romantic relationship that brings me joy; my sources of income are satisfying and allow a sense of freedom; my social anxiety has reduced significantly. In other words, my life experience has become more enjoyable and satisfying. And best of all, these manifested blessings are coming into my awareness. I am manifesting an abundance of blessings! What could be better than that? I know that my “I am” affirmation work has helped.

As it turns out, “I am” affirmations are among the most popular ways to use positive affirmations. It’s popular because it is effective. The concept “I am” is associated with spirituality and consciousness. Consciousness is all about awareness of the present moment. The phrase “I am” declares the statement as current and true. The subconscious mind is more likely to resonate with an “I am” statement because it is in the present moment. As stated by Neville Goddard in The Power of Awareness, “I AM is the feeling of permanent awareness. The very center of consciousness is the feeling of I AM. I may forget who I am, where I am, what I am, but I cannot forget that I AM.”

Be intentional with the words that follow “I am.” Repeat your “I am” statement as often as you can. Repetition will help to reinforce your new reality. Focus on the feelings that come up when repeating your affirmation. If there is some resistance or negative emotion that comes up when you make your “I am” statement, try making some adjustments to your statement that help you to better resonate with your affirmation. Making small adjustments to your phrasing can make a big difference. For example, saying “I am in a loving relationship” might not feel true; adjusting such a statement to “I am ready to be in a loving relationship” might help to better resonate with that statement. Pay attention to the feelings that come up when repeating the statement. The desired outcome is more likely if positive emotion is the result of the statement. This will help to attract more of what is wanted. When used with positive intent, “I am” statements can improve positive self-talk, cultivate positive emotion, and manifest desired outcomes.

There is a lot of power behind being intentional when using “I am” statements. “I am” can be used as a tool to cultivate peace and happiness. Be persistent; stay consistent; trust the process.
